Aqualandia

At Aqualandia you can ride one of the highest water chutes in Europe: reaching a height of 30 meters with a gradient of 66 per cent, you plunge down one of the four fiberglass tubes submerged in the water. The Big Bang is a green tunnel-like tube with three open tracks coloured yellow, blue and red. Directly alongside this lies The Splash. You sit on a plastic carpet, lying face down and facing forward, and travel like a bombshell down the route, comprising of six "roads", towards the main pool.

Comprising 14 pools, 27 water chutes and 10 play areas for children set in the midst of a green oasis, Aqualandia promises hours of enjoyment. When it opened in 1985 the Park was by far the largest of its kind in the whole of Spain: 200,000 square metres in total with many green areas, domestic plants and shady palm trees that provide the ideal place for a picnic. Those who have tried all the rides, starting with The Black Hole, Easy Trails and Rapids, can progress to the high speed Zig Zag and Kamikaze rides where no eating beforehand is recommended! More than 60 lifeboats are on hand for the security of the bathers. Children under 1.25 metres are not allowed on the high riding chutes, and the same applies to visitors with heart conditions, pregnant woman and people with any limbs in plaster.
This adventureland is a paradise for parents and their kids (of all ages). Small pools with little fountains entice the youngest visitors. For those who would like to relax for a while, there is the Atlantic Surf, a large swimming pool with gentle artificial waves that guarantee an antidote to stress.

There are a number of cafes in the Park for small snacks. You are allowed to bring picnics with you, but please do not bring glasses, bottles or cans for safety reasons. Within the Park you will also find souvenir shops, cash points, a lost property office, a photo service and safes where you can leave any valuables.

Since Aqualandia lies adjacent to the Mundomar Aquatic Animal Park, one can travel between the two on the water chutes and wave pool. Swimming with sea lions is a magical experience. You slip into a neoprene suit, experiencing first hand the animals of sea biologists and coaches, before you may slide hautnah with the Seeloewen side along side by the basin. This unique experience, which has only been available for adults in the past year, has an extra cost and takes place several times daily. It is advisable to book this beforehand, since the experience is limited to ten people.
