Insurers are now beginning to give insurance cover against airport, airspace and port closures that previously have not been included. This includes examples such as: volcanic ash, terrorism, prevention of terrorism or even a pandemic situation, such as bird flu.This should help holidaymakers feel more confident of their position as they look either to go on holiday soon or plan to book one later in the year.
Aviva’s new optional add-on policy gives up to £5,000 per person protection, for accommodation and any enforced stay costs, for just £5 per person.
